Security Forces Seize Arms Cache in Manipur’s Churachandpur District
Northeast Desk, 4th April: In a bid to bolster security measures, security forces in Manipur initiated search operations and area domination exercises in the fringe and vulnerable regions of the hill and valley district of Churachandpur. The concerted efforts yielded significant results as various items, including arms and ammunition, were recovered during the operations.
The meticulous search operations conducted by security personnel led to the discovery of a substantial arms cache in E Bungjang Village, situated in the Churachandpur District. Among the recovered items were:
• 01 51 mm Mortar
• 11 single-barrel country-made guns
• 01 .22 caliber country-made pistol with a magazine
• 01 .32 caliber country-made pistol with a magazine
• 06 live rounds of 51 mm Mortar
• 11 live rounds of 9 mm pistol
The recovery of these items underscores the proactive measures taken by security forces to ensure peace and stability in Manipur. Further search operations and area domination efforts are currently underway to maintain the safety and security of the region.
