IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms in Northeast including Assam

Guwahati, 5th April: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating enhanced rainfall and thunderstorms in parts of Northeast India until April 7. Arunachal Pradesh is expected to bear the brunt of heavy rainfall and snowfall from April 4 to 7, with the potential for very heavy falls on April 6.

Meanwhile, Assam and Meghalaya are anticipated to experience heavy rainfall today, according to IMD reports. The weather department predicts fairly widespread to widespread moderate rainfall, along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning, in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura over the next week.

Additionally, the Meteorological Department forecasts isolated light rainfall in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim in the next two days. This will be followed by scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning, from April 6 to 10.
