Two Individuals Arrested at Delhi Airport for Allegedly Making ‘Nuclear Bomb’ Comment
National Desk, 8th April: Two individuals, identified as Jignesh Malani and Kashyap Kumar Lalani from Rajkot, Gujarat, were apprehended by Delhi police on April 5 at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport after allegedly making a comment about carrying a ‘nuclear bomb’ during security screening.
The incident unfolded during a security check for an Akasa Air flight, where one of the individuals purportedly remarked about carrying a ‘nuclear bomb’ in response to a secondary screening procedure, which they questioned the necessity of, having already undergone primary screening.
Concerned for the safety of the aircraft and its passengers, airport authorities prevented the individuals from boarding the flight. Subsequently, Akasa Air staff filed an FIR, leading to the registration of a case under Section 182, 55(1)(b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The arrest underscores the seriousness with which authorities treat such comments, particularly in high-security environments like airports, prioritizing the safety and security of all passengers and personnel.
