Assam: 18-year-old boy died after falling into Diphlu river in Bokakhat

Guwahati, 9th April: In a heartbreaking incident, an 18-year-old resident of Kailakhat village, Sarat Tamuli, lost his life after falling into the Diphlu river in Bokakhat. The youth had been reported missing since late in the evening, prompting a frantic search and rescue operation involving police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, and local villagers.

The discovery of Tamuli’s clothes and sandals near a sink in the Diphlu river intensified concerns about his whereabouts. Throughout the night, search efforts were tirelessly conducted along the riverbanks.

However, despite the exhaustive search, it wasn’t until the following morning that Sarat Tamuli’s lifeless body was finally recovered from the Diphlu river. The tragic incident has plunged the community into mourning and serves as a stark reminder of the safety concerns posed by water bodies, particularly during the unpredictable monsoon season.
