Assam: Union Home Minister Amit Shah Challenges Rahul Gandhi’s Record in Lakhimpur, Highlights BJP’s Achievements
Guwahati, 9th April: In a massive rally in Lakhimpur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah directly confronted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding accountability for the party’s historical contributions to Assam. Shah challenged Gandhi, asking what the Congress, including his grandmother Indira Gandhi, has done for Assam over the years, emphasizing the need for tangible results and accountability in the state’s progress.
Shah underscored the BJP government’s efforts in addressing the issue of influx into Assam, a significant concern for the region, asserting that the BJP administration has successfully curbed influx into the state through proactive measures.
Highlighting cultural recognition, Shah pointed to the posthumous award of the Bharat Ratna to Assam’s legendary musician Bhupen Hazarika during the BJP’s tenure, criticizing the Congress for allegedly neglecting Assam’s icons and failing to honor their contributions adequately.
Furthermore, Shah accused the Congress party of not fulfilling its responsibilities towards Assam, particularly in terms of equitable development and justice for the northeastern state. He contrasted this with the BJP’s track record of mega developments and transformative changes under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Shah urged the people to support and elect Narendra Modi for a third term as Prime Minister, citing the BJP’s vision and accomplishments as crucial factors in securing Assam’s prosperity and progress.
