Assam: Flying Squads Seize Over Rs 25 Lakh in Cash Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections in Kamrup Metropolitan

Guwahati, 10th April: The Kamrup Metropolitan district administration is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In a proactive move, teams of flying squads have been deployed to conduct rigorous operations across various locations.

Recent raids conducted by these flying squads have yielded significant results, with a total of Rs 25,15,800 seized from different parts of the Kamrup Metropolitan district. It’s worth noting that the Election Commission of India strictly prohibits individuals from carrying more than Rs 50,000 in cash without valid documentation while the election code of conduct is in effect.

These concerted efforts by the Kamrup Metropolitan district administration underscore their unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and thwarting any unlawful activities during the crucial election period.
