Sikkim Governor Engages with Delhi University Students on Educational Tour

Northeast Desk, 10th April: Governor of Sikkim, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, recently hosted an interactive session with students from the Department of Geography, Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi University, during their educational tour in Sikkim. The session took place at the Raj Bhavan, where the Principal of IP College for Women, Poonam Kumariya, extended a warm welcome to the Governor and introduced him to the college.

During his address, Governor Acharya emphasized the pivotal role of women in society and their contribution to national progress. He urged the students to delve into research on natural disasters to facilitate prediction and enhance public awareness. Additionally, the Governor encouraged the students to embrace innovation, envisioning a developed India by 2047.

Drawing inspiration from Sikkim’s resilience in the face of recent calamities, Governor Acharya presented it as a model for the students to emulate in their academic pursuits. The session also featured insightful discussions by the students and a captivating musical performance.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Professor Roshni Devi of IP College, expressing gratitude for the enriching engagement with Governor Acharya.
