Tripura: Six Youths Arrested in Agartala Drug Bust, Heroin Seized
Northeast Desk, 10th April: In a late-night operation on Tuesday, Tripura Police apprehended six youths from Agartala city and confiscated a pouch of heroin from their possession. The arrest was made following a tip-off received by the Officer-In-Charge of West Agartala Police Station, Paritosh Das, regarding drug-related activities in the Krishnanagar area.
Das stated that the raid was conducted based on credible information about a group of youths involved in the sale and purchase of drugs. Upon carrying out the operation, police arrested the six individuals and seized a pouch of heroin from them. Further interrogation revealed that they had already sold five more pouches prior to their arrest.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Uttam Chakraborty, Suman Debbarma, Sayan Deb, Rakesh Debnath, Prakash Kar, and Koushik Saha. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them, and they will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
