Northeast Desk, 11th April: Unknown miscreants launched a stone pelting attack on the residence of Magdalene S Mawlong, Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) representing the Umsning Constituency, on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred at the MDC’s house located in Ladsharai, Ri-Bhoi District.
Sources suggest that the attack may have been pre-planned, as a group of unidentified individuals waited until the afternoon to initiate the assault on the MDC’s residence.
Fortunately, Magdalene S Mawlong was not present at home during the incident, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Upon receiving reports of the attack, the Umiam Police Station promptly dispatched officers to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered several stones scattered in the compound of the MDC’s house.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the assault on the KHADC MDC’s residence.
