Sikkim Sees Sharp Decline in Unemployment Rate, Offering Hope Amid Economic Challenges

A recent report jointly released by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Institute of Human Development underscores this notable decline in Sikkim’s unemployment rate. Released on April 10, 2024, the report highlights the effectiveness of strategic job distribution initiatives in tackling unemployment issues within the state.

While Sikkim celebrates its success, the report also sheds light on the contrasting situation in other Indian states. States like Goa, Kerala, and Haryana are grappling with relatively higher unemployment rates, painting a diverse picture of challenges and opportunities across the nation.

The data reveals a stark contrast, with Goa, Kerala, and Haryana ranking among the states with the highest unemployment rates, showcasing the varying employment landscapes across different regions of India.
