Mizoram Police Chief Unveils Robust Security Measures for Lok Sabha Elections

Northeast Desk, 15th April: Mizoram’s Director General of Police, Anil Shukla, has outlined comprehensive security measures ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing heightened vigilance along the state’s extensive borders.

With borders spanning around 500 kilometers with Myanmar and 320 kilometers with Bangladesh, special precautions have been implemented to curb illegal activities, including the deployment of border security forces and mobile barricades.

As the election day approaches, borders with neighboring states like Assam, Tripura, and Manipur will also be sealed, ensuring a coordinated effort among law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order.

Preparations at polling stations include meticulous arrangements for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) deployment and transportation, coupled with enhanced security and traffic management protocols to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

VIP security remains a priority, with tailored protection measures based on designated security levels, while visiting dignitaries receive requisite security protocols to guarantee their safety during their stay in Mizoram.
