Assam: Preparations in Full Swing for Lok Sabha Polls in Kaliabor and Kaziranga Constituencies
Guwahati, 18th April: As the countdown to the first phase of Lok Sabha elections ticks away, Kaliabor Assembly Constituency brims with activity, mirroring the fervor echoing across the newly formed Kaziranga Lok Sabha constituency. With both constituencies poised for polling tomorrow, a meticulous orchestration unfolds, spearheaded by the deployment of police personnel, officers, and dedicated staff to ensure seamless proceedings.
A formidable contingent of 1,135 officers and employees stand poised for duty in Kaliabor, their collective resolve aimed at overseeing the electoral process with precision. Across 230 polling stations, accommodating an electorate of 1,85,000 voters, meticulous planning assumes paramount importance to navigate the complexities inherent in such a task.
In a display of logistical prowess, the Kaliabor district election department marshals around two hundred vehicles, instrumental in ferrying presiding officers, polling personnel, and security forces to their designated stations. Among these stations, the designation of four as model polling stations underscores a commitment to elevate standards and streamline operations.
Furthermore, in a laudable stride towards inclusivity, ten polling stations stand testament to the triumph of gender parity, exclusively managed by women officers and employees. This progressive initiative marks a significant milestone in the journey towards equitable participation in electoral processes, amplifying voices and representation.
