Lok Sabha Elections: Tripura’s East Parliamentary Constituency Records Highest Voter Turnout in India

Northeast Desk, 26th April: Tripura has made history in India’s electoral landscape with the highest voter turnout recorded nationwide as the second phase of elections for Tripura’s East Parliamentary Constituency commenced today. By 9 AM, the average polling percentage stood at an impressive 16.97%.

According to the Chief Electoral Office of Tripura, covering a vast geographical area, the Tripura East PC encompasses all assembly constituencies of Dhalai, North, Unakoti, Khowai, along with four ACs of South Tripura and three ACs of Gomati district.

The election process commenced smoothly across all 1664 polling stations, as reported by the official statement from the Chief Electoral Office. Long queues of voters were observed at various polling stations, reflecting enthusiastic participation in the democratic process.

To ensure the safety and smooth conduct of elections, security arrangements were intensified across Tripura. These measures aim to maintain peace and order throughout the polling process, underscoring the commitment to uphold the democratic principles of free and fair elections.
