Northeast Desk, 26th April: During the second phase of Lok Sabha Polls in Sadar Hills Kangpokpi District, the Kuki-Zo populace continued to abstain from voting at various polling stations under neighboring Senapati District.
While Sadar Hills Kangpokpi District completed its voting in the first phase, Kuki-Zo villages in the district falling under Karong and Tadubi Assembly Constituencies in Senapati District refrained from voting, following directives from the Kuki’s apex body and civil society organizations.
Despite voters from other communities exercising their franchise rights peacefully, the Kuki-Zo community chose to abstain from voting in adherence to a unified decision.
