Assam CM Optimistic About BJP’s Performance in Lok Sabha Elections

Guwahati, 27th April: Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) performance in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam. According to CM Sarma, the BJP is leading in four out of the five seats that underwent voting, with a significant margin. However, the fifth seat is witnessing a close contest due to unspecified factors, as per the chief minister’s statement.

In the second phase held on April 26, five Lok Sabha seats went to polls, including Karimganj, Silchar, Nagaon, Darrang-Udalguri, and Diphu. CM Sarma had earlier highlighted Nagaon, Karimganj, and Dhubri constituencies as areas of focus for the BJP in the elections, expressing confidence that the party would face minimal competition in the remaining constituencies.

Looking ahead to the third phase, which includes polling in four LS constituencies – Guwahati, Barpeta, Dhubri, and Kokrajhar (ST) – CM Sarma’s optimism reflects the BJP’s determination to secure a strong foothold in the ongoing electoral process.
