Guwahati, 27th April: In a heartbreaking incident near the Amingaon Sharaighat bridge, a dedicated police constable lost his life after being struck by a truck. The deceased officer, identified as Havildar Gopal Prasad Chaudhary, hailed from Kulhati, Hajo, and was known for his unwavering commitment to duty.
The tragic event unfolded around 4 am while Chaudhary was on duty in Guwahati. The Amingaon traffic police swiftly responded to the scene, recovering Chaudhary’s body and promptly transporting it to Tolaram Bafna Hospital for necessary procedures.
At the accident site, authorities found the motorcycle belonging to the deceased, which provided crucial evidence for their investigation. Jalukbari traffic police later seized a 10-wheeler truck bearing registration number NL 01 AG 2601, suspected to have been involved in the collision that led to the untimely demise of Havildar Gopal Prasad Chaudhary.
The loss of Havildar Chaudhary has deeply saddened the police force and the community alike, highlighting the inherent risks faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty.
