Assam: Fire Claims Lives of Two Brothers in Kamrup

Guwahati, 30th April: A tragic fire engulfed a residence in Assam’s Kamrup district on Monday night, claiming the lives of two brothers. The devastating incident occurred around 2 am at Bahadur Ali’s residence in Jahirpur village, Goroimari.

The victims, identified as Sajan Ali (20) and Samej Ali (22), tragically succumbed to the flames, while their mother, Anjuara Begum, sustained severe injuries.

Suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, the fire prompted a swift response from Goroimari Police and firefighting personnel, who rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames.

Despite their efforts, the brothers were charred to death, and their mother was critically injured. The police recovered the bodies, which were sent for post-mortem examination at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), while Anjuara Begum received medical treatment at the hospital.

Adding to the tragedy, it was revealed that Bahadur Ali’s sons were mute, amplifying the sorrow and shock felt by the community. The incident has heightened tensions in the area, as residents grapple with the loss of two young lives and the injuries sustained by their mother.
