Guwahati, 1st May: In a tragic incident, one youth died of electrocution after coming in contact with an electric pole during a thunderstorm in Assam’s Hailakandi district.
The incident took place in Chiprsangan village under Algapur police station area of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Zahir Islam.
As per sources, another person identified as Sunahar Ali was also seriously injured in the incident.
The unfortunate demise of Zahir Islam ignited a palpable wave of unrest within the local populace, manifesting in road blockades and impassioned protests. However, law enforcement immediately intervened, restoring order and stability to the area.
