Assam: Seven-year-old student killed in road mishap in Kaliabor
Guwahati, 4th May: In a tragic incident, a seven-year-old girl studying in class 1 was killed in a road accident after being allegedly hit by a speeding vehicle in Nagaon district of Assam today.
The horrific accident took place in Hatbor-Bamuni road of Kaliabor.
The deceased has been identified as Nikita Saikia, a student of Sankardev Shishu Niketan in Kaliabor.
As per sources, the accident occurred when Nikita was on her way back home from school.
As she got down from the tempo in front of her house and attempted to cross the road, she was allegedly hit by a speeding vehicle.
After the horrific accident, the vehicle fled the spot towards Ujani but the Jakhalabandha police immediately reacted to the situation, seizing the brick-filled bolero vehicle as part of their investigation into the incident. The bearing registration number of the seized vehicle is AS-05-AC-5001.
So far, the police have not arrested any person in connection with the incident but the investigation into the incident is underway.
