Northeast Desk, 5th May: Bimal Chandra Das, Assistant Security Commissioner of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Dimapur Post, underscored the RPF’s unwavering commitment to enhancing safety measures for commuters during a media briefing on May 4. Recognizing the significant role railways play in the lives of countless Indians, Das addressed concerns surrounding illicit activities within railway premises.

Das emphasized the RPF’s proactive approach to addressing such issues, citing successful operations like “Nanhe Fariste,” which led to the rescue of 20 minors, subsequently handed over to Childline Dimapur for further assistance. Operations such as NARCOS, Yatri Suraksha, AMANAT, and Mission Uplabdh have also been instrumental in ensuring security.

Furthermore, Das highlighted initiatives like “Sewa,” through which the RPF provided medical aid and assistance to two women in need. Efforts under “Smuggled Goods of Foreign Origin” resulted in the recovery of suspected foreign goods and the subsequent arrest of two individuals.

Providing a comprehensive overview, Das revealed that the RPF handled 176 cases under the Railway Act, leading to the apprehension of 182 individuals involved in various offences. Encouraging civic engagement, Das invited interested individuals to apply for the ongoing RPF recruitment drive, offering 4460 vacancies, including 4208 constable positions and 452 sub-inspector roles.

The application process is entirely online, with a deadline set for May 14. Prospective candidates can submit their applications through the official website at rpf.indianrailways.gov.in, contributing to the continued safety and security of railway passengers.
