Assam: Temporary Suspension of Tourism Activities at Manas National Park

Guwahati, 5th May: The National Park Authority has announced the temporary cessation of tourism activities at Manas National Park, effective from June 5 until further notice.

This decision encompasses the suspension of popular attractions within the park, including elephant safaris, river rafting, and jeep safaris. Notably, elephant safaris and river rafting will cease earlier, starting from May 20.

The directive aims to prioritize the safety and conservation of the park’s natural habitat and wildlife. By temporarily halting tourism activities, authorities aim to minimize human interference and create an environment conducive to the thriving of flora and fauna.

Manas National Park, renowned for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes, has long been a favorite destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. However, with this temporary closure, visitors will have to wait for further notice to experience the beauty of this pristine sanctuary.

While the closure may disappoint tourists and locals alike, it underscores the importance of prioritizing environmental preservation and wildlife conservation efforts. Authorities urge visitors to comply with the guidelines and cooperate with the measures in place to safeguard the ecological balance of Manas National Park.
