Sikkim: Sixth Batch of Postal Ballots Received in Namchi District for General Election 2024

Northeast Desk, 6th May: The District Administrative Centre in Namchi witnessed the receipt of the sixth batch of postal ballots from service voters through the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) today. The postal official delivered thirty postal ballots, contributing to a total of 319 postal ballots received for all Assembly Constituencies under Namchi District thus far.

Upon arrival, the postal ballots were meticulously segregated and securely stored in the ETPBS boxes by the concerned Returning Officers (ROs) stationed in the respective Assembly Constituencies, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The entire process was meticulously documented through videography to ensure transparency and compliance with regulations.

In addition, 48 additional postal ballots from service voters for the general election 2024 were received from the Post Office in Pakyong, bringing the total count to 282. These additional ballots were handed over to Mr. Sandesh Subba, SDM Pakyong, by the Post Office official in Pakyong.

Following the norms stipulated by the ECI, all received Postal Ballots were segregated by Assembly Constituency (AC) and date and subsequently stored and sealed in the presence of election agents representing various political parties at the strong room established at the District Administrative Centre in Pakyong. Once again, the entire process was meticulously documented through videography to uphold transparency and accountability.
