Assam Records 10.12% Voter Turnout in Early Trends of Lok Sabha Elections 2024
Guwahati, 7th May: As the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 commenced at 7 am across 12 states and union territories, Assam reported a voter turnout of 10.12% according to early trends.
Dhubri constituency led the voter turnout with 10.75%, closely followed by Guwahati with 10.38%. Kokrajhar and Barpeta constituencies recorded 9.77% and 9.26% respectively.
In the Kamrup Metro Election district, the voter turnout percentages for each constituency as of 9 am are as follows:
- 33 Dipur LAC: 10.43%
- 34 Dimoria LAC: 11.06%
- 35 New Guwahati LAC: 9.53%
- 36 Guwahati Central LAC: 10.28%
- 37 Jalukbari Central LAC: 11.30%
These early trends provide insights into the voter participation rates across various constituencies in Assam, setting the tone for the rest of the day’s electoral proceedings.
