During extensive search operations and area domination initiatives across fringe and vulnerable regions of both hill and valley districts, a cache of various items was discovered, underscoring the effectiveness of the security forces’ endeavors.

The recovered items include a locally manufactured 9mm Pistol along with an empty magazine, indicating the proliferation of illicit arms within the region. Additionally, six 36-HE Grenades were recovered, posing a significant risk of harm or disruption if obtained by malicious actors. Further discoveries included three covers and four empty shells of 2-inch mortar smoke shells, alongside one Tube launcher and a BP plate, suggestive of preparations for incendiary or smoke-based operations.

Among the recovered items was a Baofeng handheld communication device, facilitating clandestine communication and coordination, as well as two BP vests essential for personnel operating in high-risk environments. Additionally, three cartridge chargers and two rings of a grenade launcher were recovered, highlighting the potential presence of heavy weaponry or ordnance.

These discoveries were made in the Wangoo Yellangba hill area, located within Kakching District, indicating the geographical spread of security concerns within Manipur. The recovery of such a diverse array of items underscores the multifaceted nature of security threats facing the region, ranging from arms proliferation to potential insurgent activities.
