Tripura Government to Roll Out e-Attendance System for Teachers in Government Schools

Northeast Desk, 9th May: In a bid to enhance transparency and efficiency, Tripura is gearing up to implement an e-attendance system for teachers across all government schools, as confirmed by a senior official on Thursday.

The initiative aims to streamline the attendance recording process for teachers, ensuring accuracy and accountability. Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for School Education, Abhijit Samajpati, emphasized the state government’s commitment to fostering transparency by extending the e-attendance system, previously introduced in various offices including the civil secretariat, to educational institutions.

Samajpati outlined that the e-attendance system would be gradually extended to encompass students in government schools, approximately six months after its rollout for teachers. Training sessions to familiarize staff with the operation of the e-attendance system have already commenced, indicating the state’s proactive approach towards digital integration in education.

Furthermore, Samajpati revealed plans to incorporate geo-tagging features into the system, enhancing its functionality and ensuring precise monitoring of attendance. With the complete digitization of the attendance system, Tripura aims to modernize its educational infrastructure while promoting accountability and efficiency.

According to official data, Tripura’s government schools boast a workforce of 25,064 teachers catering to 4,76,609 enrolled students across 2,640 educational institutions. This technological intervention is poised to revolutionize administrative processes, fostering a conducive environment for learning and growth within the state’s education sector.
