Security Forces Apprehend Two Suspected UNLF(K) Members in Manipur

Northeast Desk, 10th May: In Manipur, police reports on May 10 confirmed the apprehension of two individuals suspected to be members of UNLF(K) on May 8. The suspects, identified as Huidrom Jitanjit Singh, aged 36, and Ningtham Oinam, aged 43, were taken into custody.

Upon their arrest, authorities seized various items from their possession, including Rs.1,17,360 in cash, 40 live rounds, two walkie-talkies, 20 grams of a substance suspected to be heroin, a gold chain, a gold ring, and other miscellaneous items.

Furthermore, security forces conducted search operations and area domination in fringe and vulnerable areas of both hill and valley districts. Ensuring the smooth movement of essential items, 192 and 204 vehicles were facilitated along NH-37 and NH-2, respectively.

Strict security measures have been implemented in all vulnerable locations, with security convoys deployed in sensitive stretches to guarantee the free and safe movement of vehicles. Additionally, a total of 125 Nakas/Checkpoints were set up across different districts of Manipur, leading to the detention of 98 individuals in connection with violations throughout the state.
