Guwahati, 10th May: In the early hours of Friday, the mortal remains of Lance Naik Manoj Gogoi arrived at the Assam Police Headquarters in Guwahati. Lance Naik Gogoi, aged 38 and a member of the 5th Assam Police Battalion, had been deployed for election duty in Chhattisgarh, where he tragically passed away.
Reports indicate that Lance Naik Gogoi contracted Malaria while on duty in Chhattisgarh, leading to his untimely demise. He had served in various regions during the election period, including Bastar, Mahasamund, and Surguja.
At the Assam Police Headquarters, a solemn ceremony was held to pay tribute to the fallen jawan, honoring his service and sacrifice.
