Congress General Secretary Predicts BJP’s Electoral Decline in 2024
National Desk, 10th May: Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary in-charge of Communications, has forecasted a challenging electoral outcome for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Following the first round of polling on April 19, Ramesh remarked, ‘Dakshin mein BJP saaf, uttar mein BJP half,’ indicating a bleak outlook for the BJP in South India and a significant reduction in its support in North and Central India.
Ramesh emphasized that after the second round of polling on April 27, it became even clearer that the BJP’s presence would be severely diminished across South India and its tally in the North and Central regions would be halved compared to the 2019 elections.
Drawing parallels to the 2004 elections, Ramesh anticipates a clear majority for the Congress and its allies, the INDIA Alliance, in the forthcoming elections.
He concluded his statement by referring to Prime Minister Modi as an ‘outgoing Prime Minister,’ hinting at the anticipated electoral outcome.
