Delhi CM Kejriwal Sets Release Date from Tihar Jail, Hinges on Lok Sabha Election Outcome

National Desk, 13th May: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that he anticipates his release from Tihar Jail on June 5, contingent upon the victory of the Opposition INDIA bloc in the ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal, who is scheduled to surrender on June 2, expressed confidence in his release a day after the election results are declared.

Kejriwal’s assertion comes in the wake of his interim bail granted by the Supreme Court to participate in the Lok Sabha campaign. Addressing reporters, he recounted his time in Tihar Jail, alleging extensive surveillance, including CCTV monitoring of his cell and speculation of oversight from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The AAP supremo voiced resilience in the face of perceived scrutiny, attributing his strength to the blessings of Lord Hanuman. Dismissing notions of vulnerability, Kejriwal emphasized his determination not to succumb to pressure, asserting that PM Modi is not infallible.

Despite his confinement, Kejriwal remains engaged with the electoral process, expressing his intent to monitor the election results from within the jail premises on June 4. He underscored the significance of hard work in determining his potential release date, urging diligence and commitment from supporters to secure victory for the INDIA bloc.

Kejriwal’s announcement underscores the high stakes of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, with his release from Tihar Jail contingent upon electoral outcomes. His remarks reflect a blend of defiance, determination, and strategic positioning as he navigates a pivotal juncture in Indian politics.
