Assam: Youth Missing After Fishing Trip in Siang River, Extensive Search Underway

Guwahatim 14th May: A youth has gone missing while fishing in the Siang River in Assam’s Jonai, according to reports on Tuesday. The missing individual has been identified as Bhuban Das, a 30-year-old resident of Berachapori in Berabengali village.

Bhuban Das’s family members reported that he went fishing in the river on Monday evening with another person from the same village, using a small boat. It is suspected that while returning early this morning, Bhuban slipped and fell off the boat.

Following the incident, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Jonai Police arrived at the scene promptly. Extensive search operations are currently underway to locate the missing youth. The community and authorities are hopeful for a swift resolution to this distressing situation.
