Assam: Body Discovered in Patharkandi Tea Garden Sparks Investigation

Guwahati, 15th May: Patharkandi was enveloped in shock and speculation following the discovery of a decomposed body near a reservoir within the premises of Putni Tea Garden. The unsettling find prompted authorities, including magistrates and police personnel, to swiftly respond to the scene.

Upon arrival, officials recovered the body and facilitated its handover to the family after completing a post-mortem examination. However, the circumstances surrounding the individual’s demise remain uncertain, prompting speculation about foul play versus self-inflicted harm.

The deceased, identified as 26-year-old Nibhas Balmikadas, worked as a temporary laborer at Putni Garden and had been reported missing since Sunday. The grim discovery was made by fellow laborers on Tuesday, who detected a foul odor emanating from the area and stumbled upon the partially submerged body.
