Assam: Elderly Man Killed by Wild Elephants in Kaliabor
Guwahati, 16th May: In a tragic incident, an elderly man lost his life after being attacked by wild elephants in Assam’s Kaliabor. The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the village of Beloguri, located in the Laokhuwa area.
The deceased, identified as Jatindra Mandal, was reportedly attacked by a wild elephant that had ventured into the village from the nearby Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary in search of food.
Local sources indicate that the presence of wild elephants in the village has been a recurring issue, with the animals frequently straying from the sanctuary and causing havoc in search of sustenance.
This incident has heightened concerns among the residents of Kaliabor, who are now urging authorities to take measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
