Guwahati, 17th May: A disturbing incident unfolded at Basimari police station in Dalgaon on Friday, as three youths launched a violent attack on police officers on duty.
Tensions escalated when Arshad Ali was brought in for questioning, prompting the arrival of Baharul Islam and Ismail Hussain at the police station. A heated argument ensued, quickly spiraling into physical violence against the officers.
Authorities swiftly intervened to quell the assault. The Dalgaon police have initiated legal action, registering a case under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges related to assault, criminal force, attempted murder, criminal intimidation, abetment of suicide, and wrongful confinement.
Following the registration of the case, the accused were apprehended and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Law enforcement authorities have assured the public that stringent measures will be taken against those who disrupt law and order, underscoring their commitment to maintaining peace and safety in the community.
