Guwahati, 17th May: In a shocking incident, the body of an Assam University student was discovered under mysterious circumstances on Friday.
The student, identified as Jahid Abbas Tapadar from Chargola in Karimganj district, was residing at the ‘Ashiyana’ hostel on Panchayat Road, Silchar.
Jahid was found hanging inside his hostel room, sources report. The discovery of his body caused turmoil at the hostel, prompting immediate notification to the police.
Upon arrival, the police recovered the body and transported it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for post-mortem examination. Authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Jahid’s death.
