Assam: Forest Officials Rescue Slow Loris Near Dhola Police Station
Guwahati, 18th May: In a successful rescue operation this morning, forest officials safely retrieved a slow loris near Dhola police station. The rescue was carried out by personnel from the Saikhowa range of the Doomdooma Forest Division, according to the Dhola block forest officer.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of Lajuki Dam within the Saikhowa Forest Range. Forest officials swiftly responded to the sighting and ensured the animal’s safety.
Following the rescue, the slow loris was temporarily relocated to the Saikhowa forest area. Officials from the Saikhowa range reported that the animal would undergo a thorough medical examination before being released into the reserve forest under the Doomdooma Forest Division, ensuring it is in good health for reintroduction into its natural habitat.
