Iran President Ebrahim Raisi Killed in Helicopter Crash in East Azerbaijan
International Desk, 20th May: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, 63, has reportedly died after the helicopter he was traveling in suffered a “hard landing” in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. The crash, which occurred on May 19, prompted a massive search operation.
Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and all other passengers on board have also been reported dead. The chopper was discovered in a completely burnt state at the crash site, with no signs of survivors, according to initial reports.
