Assam: Elderly Man Found Hanging from Tree in Nagaon

Guwahati, May 20—The body of 74-year-old Anup Kumar Ganguly was discovered hanging from a tree along ADP Road in Christanpatty early this morning, causing widespread shock in the local community. The unsettling discovery has prompted speculation about whether the death was a result of murder or suicide.

Locals stumbled upon Ganguly’s body hanging from a tree beside the footpath during their morning routines. In a poignant statement, the deceased’s brother expressed his sorrow: “He was my elder brother. I can’t find the words to express my feelings. Every day, he would go for his morning walk, and today was no different. My elder sister noticed someone outside our home in suspicious circumstances. When I went outside to check, I saw my brother hanging from a tree.”

Nagaon police swiftly arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Ganguly’s death. Authorities are working to uncover the cause of death and to determine if foul play was involved.
