Assam: Barpeta’s Krishangi Kashyap Shines as IIT Topper and NASA Conference Delegate
Guwahati, 21st May: Krishangi Kashyap, a native of Barpeta, has made her hometown proud by securing the prestigious IIT Topper award at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. Her remarkable achievement comes with an impressive score of 9.45 marks in her post-graduate examination in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Engineering.
Krishangi’s academic journey exemplifies her dedication and brilliance. She distinguished herself in physics at Bhattadeva University in Pathshala before pursuing her post-graduate studies at IIT Indore in 2022, with aspirations of becoming a space scientist.
In addition to her academic accolades, Krishangi was chosen to represent India at the 55th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC 55) 2024, organized by NASA in Texas, USA. Her research, titled “Surface and Subsurface Regolith Characterization of Lunar South Pole using Chandrayaan-2 Dual-Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR),” focuses on the moon’s south pole and the location of water on its surface. Her father, Hitesh Sharma, proudly shared her significant achievement with the media.
Krishangi’s success story, ascending from a modest background to achieving excellence on an international stage, fills Assam with pride.
