Assam: Massive Fire Engulfs Residence in Goalpara District, Leaving Devastation in Its Wake
Guwahati, 25th May: A catastrophic fire tore through a residence in Kahibari, Goalpara district, during the night, leaving behind a path of destruction. The blaze, which originated at the house of Majendra Chandra Ray in Khilamara village, reportedly began with a cylinder explosion in the kitchen of the main house.
Both structures on the property, comprising the main house and an adjacent building, fell victim to the flames, resulting in irreparable damage. The inferno swiftly devoured property worth lakhs of rupees, including cash, important documents, clothing, bedding, furniture, ornaments, three mobile phones, numerous utensils, and a substantial collection of books.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, authorities responded promptly, with Rangjuli police and the fire brigade rushing to the scene. With the assistance of the local community, they battled the flames in a desperate attempt to contain the fire. However, despite their valiant efforts, the fire had already engulfed the entirety of the house by the time it was eventually extinguished.
The catastrophic blaze has left the affected family grappling with the loss of their possessions and the destruction of their home. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway as authorities strive to determine the circumstances leading to this tragic incident.
