Arunachal: Fifteen Arrested in Connection with Stone Pelting Incident at Khelmati out post in North Lakhimpur
Guwahati, 25th May: In response to the violent stone pelting incident at the Khelmati Out Post on May 23rd, North Lakhimpur police have taken decisive action, arresting fifteen individuals believed to be involved. The arrests, made following a meticulous investigation and analysis of CCTV footage from the scene, signify a significant breakthrough in the case.
The individuals apprehended have been identified as Jahangir Ali, Md. Malek Ali, Md. Monirul Islam, Md. Sahjahan Alom, Md. Soni Ahmed, Md. Papu Khan, Md. Mubarak Ali, Md. Mojibur Rahman, Md. Ajijur Rahman, Md. Kashem Ali, Md. Baharul Islam, Anarul alias Anar Islam, Syed Mafujur Rahman, and two minors, whose identities have been withheld due to their age.
According to police sources, the evidence gleaned from the CCTV footage unequivocally links the arrested individuals to the attack, which resulted in significant damage and disruption of public order. Furthermore, during subsequent searches conducted by authorities, materials believed to be preparatory to arson were discovered and seized, raising concerns about the potential escalation of violence.
