Lot Mandal in Assam Caught Red-Handed Accepting Bribe

Guwahati, 29th May: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, on May 29 apprehended Laba Kanta Nath, a Lot Mandal at the office of the Circle Officer in Sarthebari Revenue Circle, Barpeta district, for accepting a bribe. Nath was caught red-handed in his office following a complaint that he demanded a bribe for mutation-related work.

The operation was initiated after a complainant reported Nath’s demand for an illegal payment, prompting the anti-corruption team to take swift and decisive action. Nath’s arrest is a testament to the Directorate’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption within government offices.
