Assam: Tragic Poisoning Incident Claims Life of Six-Year-Old in South Kamrup
Guwahati, 30th May: In a heartbreaking incident in Sanpara, South Kamrup, six-year-old Kristilina Das tragically lost her life after consuming poisoned prasad. Kristilina, a class 1 student at The Kamrup National School in Mirza, passed away while undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College Hospital.
The poisoning incident has left over 70 people affected, with initial reports indicating more than 40 individuals receiving medical attention. Since Wednesday, an additional 10 individuals have been hospitalized. Responding swiftly to the crisis, a district-level medical team has been deployed to the village to provide urgent care.
The consumption of prasad led to multiple residents falling ill, prompting an immediate response from local health authorities. Despite ongoing efforts to treat and monitor the affected individuals, the situation remains critical. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the poisoning, with the aim of preventing similar incidents in the future.
