Guwahati, 3rd June: Amidst the devastation caused by the floods in Assam, a surprising discovery has captured attention as a local resident fishing in the floodwaters of Karimganj district stumbled upon a ‘rare’ species of fish.

The peculiar catch, distinguished by its four eyes and elongated spine, has sparked curiosity among observers. While the exact species of the four-eyed fish awaits official identification, its distinctive features set it apart from the more commonly encountered fish species in the area.

Notably, a Twitter user responded to the news report from AIR News, asserting that such fish are not uncommon in the region. The user remarked, “It’s common nowadays… we have those in our pond… They can survive in harsh conditions with even no water for days, I guess.”
