Arunachal State BJP President Biyuram Wahge Receives Warm Welcome After Landslide Victory
Northeast Desk, 3rd June: Biyuram Wahge, the Arunachal State BJP President, was greeted with jubilation and applause at the state BJP office in Itanagar following the party’s resounding victory in the recent elections, securing a remarkable 46 seats in Arunachal Pradesh.
A two-time MLA winner from the 12th Pakke Kesang Assembly constituency, Wahge clinched victory once again by a substantial margin, a testament to his enduring popularity among constituents.
In his address, Wahge extended heartfelt gratitude to the people of Arunachal Pradesh for their overwhelming support and trust in the saffron party’s vision for the state’s development.
Expressing concern over the solitary seat won by the Congress, Wahge emphasized the significance of a vibrant opposition in a democratic setup, acknowledging the role of national parties in the political landscape.
Dismissing any speculation about ministerial posts, Wahge reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to discipline and adherence to the directives of the party’s high command, underscoring the party’s unwavering dedication to its principles.
Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society extended its congratulations to the BJP on its landslide electoral victory, lauding the electorate’s faith in the party’s leadership.
The society urged the new government to prioritize the welfare and empowerment of women and children in the state, advocating for legislative measures to address pressing issues such as polygamy.
Highlighting the negative social, psychological, and economic implications of polygamy, the society called for stringent laws banning the practice and advocated for the exclusion of polygamous MLAs from the Department of Women and Child Development to ensure effective advocacy for women’s rights.
