
Radical Preacher Amritpal Singh Leads in Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha Seat
National Desk, 4th June: According to Election Commission statistics, radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh is leading Congress contender Kulbir Singh Zira by 63,680 votes in Punjab’s Khadoor Sahib seat. Singh, who ran as an independent candidate, is currently imprisoned in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act.
Amritpal Singh, the leader of the ‘Waris Punjab De’ organisation, has managed to garner substantial support despite his incarceration. His lead marks a significant development in Punjab’s political landscape, indicating a shift in voter sentiment.
The counting of votes for Punjab’s 13 Lok Sabha seats began at 8 a.m. under stringent security precautions, ensuring the integrity and smooth progression of the electoral process. The results from Khadoor Sahib are part of the broader electoral contest in Punjab, where various political dynamics are at play.
