Mizoram CM Lalduhoma Hails ZPM’s Growth Following Lok Sabha Victory
Northeast Desk, 5th June: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma highlighted the impressive growth of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) following the party’s significant victory in the state’s lone Lok Sabha seat. ZPM candidate Richard Vanlalhmangaiha secured the seat by a margin of 68,288 votes, defeating his nearest rival, K Vanlalvena of the Mizo National Front (MNF).
Addressing ZPM workers during a celebration, CM Lalduhoma remarked, “The progress of the ZPM is evident from the Lok Sabha poll results. It was delightful for us to win a majority of the votes in 37 assembly segments, including in 10 constituencies, which we lost in the assembly polls last year.”
This victory marks the first Lok Sabha win for the ZPM, a party established in 2017 and registered with the Election Commission in July 2019.
Lalduhoma expressed optimism about the party’s future electoral prospects and emphasized the government’s commitment to significant developmental efforts in the state.
