Security Forces Arrest Three KCP Apunba Cadres in Manipur’s Thoubal District
Northeast Desk, 5th June: In a significant crackdown, security forces arrested three active members of the proscribed outfit KCP Apunba (City Meitei) from Waithou in Manipur’s Thoubal District. The arrested individuals have been identified as Louriyam Suresh Singh (28), Lairenlakpam Dineshchandra Singh (30), and Konsam Anao Singh (26).
During the operation, authorities recovered three pistols with magazines, sixteen rounds of ammunition, four mobile phones, and one four-wheeler vehicle from the suspects.
In addition to these arrests, security forces have intensified search operations and area domination exercises in both hill and valley districts. Efforts have been ramped up to ensure the safe movement of 202 vehicles carrying essential items along NH-2. This includes the implementation of strict security measures in vulnerable locations and the provision of security convoys in sensitive areas.
To bolster security, a total of 123 checkpoints have been established across various districts in Manipur. These measures have led to the detention of 81 individuals for violations across different parts of the state.
