Guwahati, 6th June: Following his victory in the Jorhat Lok Sabha seat, Gaurav Gogoi has received commendations from prominent BJP leaders in Assam, including Mrinal Saikia and Siddhartha Bhattacharya.
Siddhartha Bhattacharya, former State President of BJP Assam Pradesh and MLA, publicly congratulated Gaurav Gogoi, emphasizing the merit of his win. Bhattacharya remarked that Gogoi’s approach resonated well with the middle-class society in Jorhat, particularly in urban areas. He acknowledged that Gogoi’s victory was based on his own potential and not just his lineage. Bhattacharya highlighted this election as a significant milestone in Gogoi’s political career, contrasting it with his earlier win, which was often attributed to his father, former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
Similarly, Mrinal Saikia, the BJP MLA from Khumtai, extended his congratulations to Gogoi via Twitter. Saikia’s tweet highlighted the significance of Gogoi’s victory in Jorhat, pointing out that traditional election strategies like heavy spending, extensive publicity, and aggressive campaigning were not the deciding factors in this instance. Instead, he implied that Gogoi’s genuine connection with the electorate and his effective campaign approach led to his success.
