Congress Demands Supreme Court Oversight in NEET Probe Amid Controversy
Guwahati, 13th June: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has called for a thorough investigation into the NEET controversy, urging Supreme Court oversight to address concerns raised by students and allegations of financial impropriety.
Speaking on the issue, Gogoi stressed the need for a comprehensive probe monitored by the Supreme Court, emphasizing that the current judicial focus on 1,500-1,600 students is insufficient given the scale of alleged irregularities. “Substantial sums of money have exchanged hands, and students across the country are actively protesting,” he stated, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Reaffirming his party’s stance, Gogoi asserted, “Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party stand firmly with the students.” He criticized the Education Minister, questioning the rationale behind the government’s exoneration and the extent of consultations with affected students and parents. “On what grounds has the NDA been absolved?” he queried.
“We will hold the NDA government accountable and ensure it addresses the grievances of students affected by this controversy,” Gogoi declared, emphasizing the Congress party’s commitment to seeking justice and accountability. These remarks underscore Congress’s resolve to advocate for transparency and fairness in the NEET examination process.
