Sikkim Celebrates First Fighter Jet Pilot Officer, Pratik Pradhan
Northeast Desk, 19th June: Pratik Pradhan has etched his name in Sikkim’s history as the state’s first fighter jet pilot officer, marking a remarkable journey from his initial aspirations to his recent achievement. Born to Mahendra Pradhan and Kunti Pradhan in Sadam Suntaley/Melli, Sikkim, Pratik’s success story is one of perseverance and dedication.
His journey began with securing the 7th rank in the competitive Army officer examination through NCC direct entry on an all-India merit basis in 2022. Following this accomplishment, he underwent rigorous training as an Army officer in Chennai. During this period, he demonstrated exceptional aptitude and determination, which led to his successful clearance of the competitive examination for an Air Force flying officer.
In January 2023, Pratik embarked on a transformative journey at the Indian Air Force Academy in Hyderabad, where he underwent extensive training until June 15, 2024. His 15-month training course encompassed rigorous physical and mental preparation, equipping him with the skills necessary to command a fighter jet.
Pratik’s dedication and hard work culminated in his commissioning as a Fighter Jet Pilot officer in the Indian Air Force, a momentous achievement that has filled the hearts of Sikkim’s residents with pride. His accomplishment not only highlights his individual prowess but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring youth across the state.
